If I look at "Menu/Control Centre/Startup Applications" one of the startup programs I see is "Desktop Sharing, GNOME Desktop Sharing Server", which I presume is the utility Teamviewer uses for its magic. This is a problem, which is relatively new since the desired remote login used to work, as suggested in the following post by a Ubuntu user after moving from Teamviewer 10 to Teamviewer 11. (Fortunately remote login does work when there is screen lock.) a remote reboot now also requires someone to login locally.ģ. remote login doesn't work any more until someone logs in remotely.Ģ. I also use Teamviewer 11 to support other users.

Unless you have another remote control option, that works, I would be interested in knowing?! I'm pretty sure mint, can do this too, it's just how and/or why it's not working now. This can most definitely be done, at least in windows. The teamviewer service(daemon), must run at boot up, or the remote access won't start before you login. There will be no monitor/keyboard/mouse, attached to the system. The desktop is to be setup to be accessed remotely. I have already done what you have suggested, along with running a script, in teamviewer folder, tried editing rc.local file, but no luck there either.

I hope this works for you and you enjoy Mint but it is not a Windows clone. If it's Cinnamon then open the menu and type 'start' to locate 'Startup Applications' from there click on Add>Choose Application>TeamViewer.

If you mean you want Teamviewer to start as soon as you have logged in then that is easy but you have not told us which desktop you are using. There would be no point in having a log in if you could start programs before you had logged in! How do I have Teamviewer startup before loggin in Linux, has to be special, and not cooperate. Usually setting up unattended access, takes care of this. That’s where Linux is supposed to come in I'm trying to get from OS's, that are more interested in gathering useless data, than do what's necessary efficiently. I don't have these issues with Macs or Wins. I don't have time to troubleshoot, what should be simple startup options. WHAT'S THE SOLUTION, aside from scrapping Mint, as this will be my next option. doesn't matter whether it's terminal, or the editor. Can edit the rc.local file, read-only, can't save. I've tried too many things to go over again. I have tried running the script in the teamviewer folder, etc, etc. How do I have Teamviewer startup before loggin in? It's a simple setting in Windows, yes even in Windows10.
